I have a similar problem; every time I press CAPS LOCK my whole machine dies (wait, it is only the software). Someone from the upper 20 ( I forget who it was, cgd i think ) told me that it is a problem with the console driver, better: it is a problem with the keyboard chip. Every time the console driver wants to set the LEDs something in the keyboard chip went wrong and stop the system. There are two solutions: rewrite the console driver disable your CAPS LOCK key (that is what I have done; 10 second work) If you prefere solution one, please send me your patches. /gT/ -- Gerd Truschinski | INTERNET: gt@first.gmd.de c/o GMD-First Berlin | Yes, this is the sort of scenario I 12489 Berlin-Adlershof | think up to amuse myself in the evenings.
