Unfortunately, this didn't work. Instead, I got the sort of garbage you get when your terminal is configured for the wrong baud rate (e.g. xxxxx'xxx'xxx~xxxx, etc.) and won't return to normal. This may be some quirk of the modem, a Hayes Ultra 96, or the serial port, a Boca 4x2 16550-compatible. Any other ideas? Gary D.
