I released a QIC-40/80 tape driver for 386BSD about a month ago. Included
in the last release was a program called "ftfilt", which allows you to
use tar to back up your system. I've been backing up my system with it
for quite some time, so you shouldn't have to resort to DOS to back up
your system anymore. If there's a problem with the driver, I'd sure
like to hear about it. The feedback I've gotten from it has been pretty
underwhelming.

I am currently working on a program called "qtar" which will allow you to
create/extract any QIC-40/80 format tapes. Also, I've decided to upgrade
my system to FreeBSD (after much debate), so support for the new floppy
driver will be in the next release.

Last, did anyone archive the driver? Dave Burgess was handling this
for me a while back, but he said he had to give up the space. If someone
could do this for me (I don't have ftp access currently) I'd appreciate it.

P.S. To Mark Foley:

I am getting your messages, but my replies are bouncing. :-(
