Well, despite Terry Lamberts concerns ('You'll never make it work properly unless you rewrite the device driver properly') I've been using a USR Sportster for a while now with few problems. I'm using NetBSD 0.8 with cdg's bidir com stuff (not sio). I used to get a few silo messages messages til I commented them out, but they don't seem to do any harm. Indeed, the only problems I've experienced seem to occur when someone calls in and gets a call waiting - it seems to lock up NetBSD altogether, and I have to resort to the little red switch. Mind you, I've got a 486DX2-66, so it may be just my processor enabling it to keep up. hasta... -- Bruce J.
