Nntp-Posting-Host: nemesis.ps.uci.edu Message-ID: <2CBDF796.13172@news.service.uci.edu> Summary: Tin won't save articles or give emacs the tty Newsgroups: comp.os.386bsd.questions X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Keywords: news, readers, tin Lines: 22 Date: 15 Oct 93 01:06:30 GMT Hello all, Does anybody have Tin 1.2.2 working correctly with FreeBSD? It compiled out of the box, but does a couple of strange things: When tagged articles are saved, tin prompt for a save file name, then ignores it and saves everything to "null". Amusingly, no files named "null" appear in ~/News. A second curiosity is tin's interaction with emacs 19.19: Under X, it works like a charm, but if I'm running a telnet or rlogin session emacs reports "stopped, tty output" and tin immediatly gives a completion prompt. If anybody can offer suggestions I'd be most grateful. The author of tin replied that he'd never seen such behavior :-( thanks for reading bob
