Rxvt release 1.4 has been uploaded to /pub/Linix/Incoming/rxvt-1.4.tar.z and rxvt.README. Rxvt is known to run under Linux and SunOS4.1.3. It should work under the various BSD implementation with few changes. If anyone finds that changes are needed, please send diffs to nation@rocket.sanders.lockheed.com for inclusion in future releases. Rxvt is an xterm replacement which uses a little less memory, and is suitable for use on machines with small memories. Tek4010 support is removed. Modifications were made by Rob Nation (nation@rocket.sanders.lockheed.com) to make it a little more compact, and to add and remove certain features. Here's what's new since the last release: 1. Several bug fixes including ctrl-@ and ctrl-space now work meta-key now sends an escape prefix so modem operation is improved ctrl-m and ctrl-j are no longer mapped together. middle clicking when there is no selection no longer crashed rxvt. Some fixes for the xterm-style scroll bar. 2. Optional support for making utmp entries, so "who" now shows the correct user list. The binary include utmp support. 3. Can now secure the keyboard for typing passwords. 4. Can switch fonts as you go, switching between 4 pre-defined fonts and one font that you select. 5. Much faster scrolling. Comparable to xterm now. ------------------- 6. rclock now accepts the Delete Window protocol. 7. rclock now has a really neat built in icon (wait for fvwm-0.985 for full benefits). 8. Rclock now serves as a simple appointment reminder. Rob Nation (nation@rocket.sanders.lockheed.com)
