What kernel do I use with NetBSD-0.9 and XS3-0.3exp? I just upgraded to 0.9, and XS3 hangs with a blank screen. No messages of any kind. Just before this, it complained about no /dev/vga, so I created it with the default MAKEDEV. As far as I remember, even NetBSD-0.8 did not work with XS3. I had used one of the 386BSD X-compatible kernels with NetBSD-0.8 and suffered frequent X crashes. At that time, I had a perfect config file, and everything worked (except for the crashes) and my X directory is unchanged since then. I know people will want to see my Xconfig, although it works, so here it is ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ RGBPath "/usr/lib/X11/rgb" FontPath "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc/,/usr/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/,/usr/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo/" # Use this if the Type1 font code is in the server #FontPath "/usr/X386/lib/X11/fonts/misc/,/usr/X386/lib/X11/fonts/Type1/,/usr/X386/ /lib/X11/fonts/Speedo,/usr/X386/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/" # NoTrapSegV Keyboard AutoRepeat 500 50 # Xleds 1 2 3 ServerNumLock # DontZap mousesystems "/dev/com0" BaudRate 1200 # SampleRate 150 # Emulate3Buttons vga256 Vendor "Actix" Clocks 13 14 Virtual 1024 768 ViewPort 0 0 Modes "1024x768d" videoram 1024 # ACTIX DOT CLOCK CODES # Code Bandwidth (MHz) # 0 25.175 # 1 28.322 # 2 40.000 # 3 72.000 80.000 # 4 50.000 # 5 77.000 # 6 36.000 # 7 44.900 # 8 80.000 90.000 # 9 120.000 # a 130.000 80.000 # b 31.5 # c 110.000 <---- GE 32 + # d 65.000 # e 75.000 # f 72.000 94.500 ModeDB # Mode clock horizontal timing vertical timing "1024x768i" 13 1024 1064 1224 1264 768 777 785 817 Interlace "1024x768a" 14 1024 1064 1264 1328 768 781 795 806 "1024x768b" 14 1024 1040 1240 1300 768 781 795 806 "1024x768c" 14 1024 1024 1104 1348 768 781 795 806 "1024x768d" 14 1024 1040 1240 1368 768 768 776 808
