If you have the fatal combination of S3 video and adaptec 1542C, please
help by answering the following:

What operating system do you use, how do you install it, and do you have
any problems with it? I am still interested in *BSD, and not Linux as far as
possible.

I just discovered that NetBSD-0.9 won't work with XS3. The Tiny 386BSD install
floppy won't work with 1542C. I know that the 1542C problem has been solved
in patchkit 0.2.3. So is a patched Tiny BSD install disk available that
works with 1542C? I couldn't find it in the patchkit.

Also, is the 386BSD + pk0.2.3 patched binary distribution available anywhere?
If not, then does the un-patched 386BSD-0.1 work with 1542C?
I had heard that the 1542C problem was a boot block problem, which should
be solved by installing from a patched TinyBSD boot floppy, so after that, the
un-patched 386BSD-0.1 should work. Is this true?
If not, then how do we apply the patches?

How does FreeBSD work with XS3 and 1542C?
