FreeBSD, XS3 and the 1542C are all happy together. :) (Note that
the 1542C is not happy with all ide controllers though...)

Also, steer WAY clear of the 386bsd 0.1 distribution at all
costs!  With FreeBSD and NetBSD (and heck, even linux), there
isn't any real reason I know of to attempt a 386bsd installation
at this point in time.
