FYI - Problems in FreeBSD with the disklabel not 'sticking' to the drive
and problems with the install program saying '/: file system full' are
due to a now know and somewhat fixable problem.  Work is proceeding in
that area even as I write this.

This is a known problem, and a fix is being worked on.

This is a completely different problem.  You've lost the partition table,
and probably the Master Boot Record.  You'll need to recreate all of the
above info. before you can re-install FreeBSD.

Everything below this point is bogus, since you're going to have to
re-install with a partition table.

The partition table got wiped out.  I *doubt* that FreeBSD did it, but
stranger things have happened.
