I used an IDE/1540C combination for >a couple of weeks without any glitches (NetBSD 0.9). Since I've never heard of anyone else having the problem, I gather it is pretty rare. My machine has a localbus ide controller on the motherboard. A call to the manufacturer confirmed my suspicions of the conflict. Re-configuring the 1542C didn't help either. Fortunately I was able to disable the ide controller with a jumper and all has been happy since. :) -john -- == John Fieber ================================== Young Science Library == == jfieber@sophia.smith.edu ======= Smith College, Northampton MA 01063 ==
