I am re-posting my plea for help or information dealing with a kernel panic: setrq. I recieved no responses, but I will assume that it is because our net server was down for a while. Anyway, the problem is this: Whenever I log-in to my terminal (tty00 @ com0), I can do most normal operations, but when I try to compile (do something disk/cpu intensive), it will go okay for about 5 minutes, and then the kernel will issue a panic: setrq. This message is located in the source file locore.s, where the run queue is handled. Note that this NEVER happens on the console. I can only assume that it is because of the com0 driver. Can this have anything to do with the number of file descriptors that the kernel has (default of 2048) ? PLEASE SOMEONE reply with SOMETHING. It is difficult for me to believe that I am the only one who has seen this bug. Is there reason to believe that it is fixed in FreeBSD? Jon Arney
