The patch process was not quite as simple as issuing 'patch < emacs.pch', though. I had to install some of the patches by hand because of line number changes, etc. If others want updated patches, I'd be happy to run a diff -c for you. One question/proposal I have on the ported software archives: Do you think it would be possible to have *just* the necessary patches for porting to *BSD on the archive, instead of (or in addition to) the entire ported source? I would hate to have to download 6 MB of Emacs source just to get 4K worth of patches. The savings to you in terms of storage space on your archive are obvious. For something that's as much of a moving target as most of the GNU stuff is, getting the new version from the GNU archive and a patch for the old version from a *BSD archive would be better than having to get two full source distributions. In my case, I didn't want to download the full source because I still had the 19.19 distribution left over from when I installed it on my Sun here at work. Also, not everyone does as good a job of supplying version upgrade patches as GNU does. -- Mike Long Mike.Long@Analog.com VLSI Design Engineer voice: (617)461-4030 Analog Devices, SPD Div.
