Some days ago I asked for help with uucp because it didn't work after upgrading my system from 386bsd-0.1-0.2.4 to FreeBSD-1.0E. Well, I absolutely don't know why, but w/ 386bsd I managed somehow to put in my /etc/ttys the modem on /dev/com0. com0 was created by hand from me in 386bsd. Yes you're right: I never thought to check /etc/ttys as I didn't changed it when upgrading... But with FreeBSD /dev/com0 doesn't existed any more! To make it short: I changed /etc/ttys to /dev/com00 for the modem - and now it works like a charm... Bye and thanks for your help, Michael. -- ------------------------------+------------------------------ Michael Giegerich | migieger@luva.stgt.sub.org ------------------------------+------------------------------
