Message-ID: <CG6Ezx.HqJ@latcs1.lat.oz.au> From: wongm@latcs1.lat.oz.au (M.C. Wong) Date: Mon, 8 Nov 1993 14:02:21 GMT Organization: Comp Sci, La Trobe Uni, Australia Lines: 37 Hi, Before I upgrade to FreeBSD, I used to do my project on 386bsd with ISODE-8.0, NIST Estelle tools called PET and DINGO which is compiled with g++-1.39 (the only OFFICIAL ported version, ie not available officially in g++-2.x). Now that I have migrated to FreeBSD, and I will like to keep most of the work for improvement and etc. I just wonder if there exists a g++-1.39 ready for installed ? I looked into /.1/FreeBSD/packages, and only managed to find gcc1_* stuff, and there doesn't seem to have old *.h files for g++-1.39. Since PET and DINGO are initially written and compiled before C++ version 2 exists, some new changes in *.h files in g++-2.x are not usable, ie I need one that is ported and tested to be coexisting well with existing version. I just like to know if there is such a port, otherwise, I will ftp one and do the port myself. Since there is a gcc1 port for FreeBSD, so I thought for g++-1.39 will be just trivial for you guys who have done the port. I got the gcc1* stuff from freebsd, but there is a README file saying that gcc1 doesn't coexist well with the default FreeBSD gcc2. I just wonder if someone can explain to me a bit on this. I assume I only need to do 'make install' to get the gcc1 installed, right ? Secondly, ISODE package seems to be disappear from FreeBSD, I jut wonder if anyone has a tested port (perhaps with right patch) on FreeBSD ? I used to hacked it to work on 386bsd with some assistance from another guy, but now I am more interested in a more stable one, just wonder if anyone has done this ? Also, I am not sure if there exists one ISODE that with all routines declared with ANSI prototype style (perhaps I should post it to comp.protocols.iso.dev-environ later). But basically, those are just the 2 things I am looking for apart from TeX package. Thanks in advance and email replies please! - wongm@latcs1.lat.oz.au (M.C Wong) -- - wongm@latcs1.lat.oz.au
