Sorry if this seems like nitpicking, but XF86_S3 is NOT heavily based on Amancio's XS3. Amancio's XS3 was pioneering work, but there is at most 1-200 lines of his code left. Basically everything was rewritten from scratch by Jon Tombs (of Linux fame), with the rest thrown in by me and David Dawes. In almost all respects, it is a completely new work, starting with XFree86 1.3 and Kevin Martin's X8514 as its basis. I fully expect Amancio to lead the technology bandwagon, however, and beat us by many months with hi/truecolor support. -- David Wexelblat <dwex@aib.com> (703) 430-9247 Fax: (703) 450-4560 AIB Software, Inc., 46030 Manekin Plaza, Suite 160, Dulles, VA 20166 Formerly Virtual Technologies, Inc.
