Date: Tue, 9 Nov 1993 04:06:07 GMT Message-ID: <CG7I28.22B@mv.mv.com> Lines: 18 I'm running 386bsd (0.1 + patches) soon to download the more recent FreeBSD. I'm going to be in the market for a tape backup. My first requirement is that it be a SCSI unit and be part of the scsi bus that has an Adaptec 1542C as the controller. I'm interested in either a QIC-525 unit or a 4mm DAT unit. While I'm quite certain that the QIC-525 unit does work with 386bsd/FreeBSD, I'm leaning towards the 4mm DAT size. Has anyone gotten a 4mm drive working under 386bsd or FreeBSD? What are the problem areas, if any? Any particular make of drive? Thanks in advance for any info. -roger -- Roger Levasseur rogerl@mv.mv.com
