All of them have neglected the fact that you need to give this job to the shell except for one guy who said erroneously that you had to exit kermit. What you have to do is 'run' a job from the kermit prompt or 'spawn' the job. Exiting should be unnecessary. I have defined the following macros in my .kermrc file: define rz !rz \%1 \%2 \%3 \%4 \%4 \%5 \%6 \%7 \%8 \%9 < \v(line) > \v(line) define sz !sz \%1 \%2 \%3 \%4 \%4 \%5 \%6 \%7 \%8 \%9 < \v(line) > \v(line) There may be another problem: recent versions of rzsz do no allow input and output redirection, explicitly opening /dev/tty. Using rzsz this way is also a violation of the copyright notices in recent versions of zmodem. If you have the latest versions of kermit on both ends and use very large packets and several windows, it is supposed to be much faster than older version. I have not done this so am not sure. -- R.Stewart(Stew) Ellis, Assoc.Prof., (Off)313-762-9765 ___________________ Humanities & Social Science, GMI Eng.& Mgmt.
