I can't speak for Chris, but I get the idea that what he means by this is that there is no support group handling 386BSD. If there I would be glad to know of it so I could point people towards them. > > 2) If the moderator does not support 386bsd and supports > another Operating System in it's place then he is in > conflict-of-interst. > Why? Theses newsgroups are for any of the 386bsd offshoots as well as for 386bsd. > 3) By posting the FAQ to 386bsd the moderator will show > his support for 386bsd. There are problems with this as anyone who read it can tell. Its out of date and at this point does not have a maintainer(sic). I'm presently working on one for FreeBSD which I expect Chris will post promptly (Meaning when he has time...) > > 4) However, posting the FAQ will point to the > contradiction in terms coming from the moderator. > Namely it shows that he will do things only on his > terms and not in the interest of 386bsd. > This shows another conflict-of-interest. If your talking about your QIC News, I can see why he did not post it! BTW, someone has already done a QIC-40/80 driver for the *BSD's... > > 6) Not accepting the articles without editorial > modifications is a conflict-of-interest. > The moderator is, by the charter, to deny or accept > the articles based on their contents not his > prejudices. Again, this is the job a moderator, to only post correct things. Not heresay or other rubish. > > 7) By stating that the articles may be of a less than > trustworthy nature the moderator shows that his he is > not accepting article based on their contents, but on > his merit. This shows a further conflict-of-interst. See the above two points. A moderator does not have to accept all posts. > >___________________________________________________________________________ >Jesus Monroy Jr jmonroy@netcom.com >Zebra Research >/386BSD/device-drivers /fd /qic /clock /documentation ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Has anyone ever seen any of Mr. Monroy's code or docs?? >___________________________________________________________________________ > Gary Clark II -- Gary Clark II | FreeBSD 1.0 being run everywhere! gclarkii@radon.gbdata.com | gclarkii@netport.neosoft.com | Mail info@radon.gbdata.com for information on FreeBSD support
