Sender: news@hermes.hrz.uni-bielefeld.de (News Administrator) Message-ID: <CGC2yu.Cz1@hermes.hrz.uni-bielefeld.de> Date: Thu, 11 Nov 1993 15:28:06 GMT Nntp-Posting-Host: odie.uni-bielefeld.de Organization: University of Bielefeld (Germany) Lines: 29 -- Hello! I want to boot from my second ESDI disk FreeBSD-1.0. To solve the problem, I install the bteasy1.4 boot manager on my disks, and everything seems to work, except that the bootblock on the second drive tries to boot from wd0. To boot from the second drive I have to enter at the boot prompt: wd(1,a)/386bsd Thats O.K, and all works fine (with root at wd1a). Now my question; how can I modify the bootsector sources to boot from wd1 automatically? I try to change all 80 (ID for wd0) to 81, but after loading the kernel correct from wd1 it changes to wd0 (fsck) where I've installed a small FreeBSD system to fix problems and for installing. Who can help me?
