My system reboots five times a day and that (a) interrupts all of the users, (b) is unacceptable because it is a mail gateway, and (c) shouldn't be necessary. I think that this is a grave kernel problem and have done everything that I can do on the small time budget that I have and limited knowledge about hard drive controllers and kernel hacking that I have to fix it. I cannot do this alone, so if someone else would like to help or has patched their kernel or something I am all ears. I read news erratically, so if you post a response, *please* e-mail it to one of the addresses below too. BTW, anyone who wants to work on it may have an account on my system (chaos).
