Natraj" <nn07+@andrew.cmu.edu> Newsgroups: comp.os.386bsd.questions Subject: FreeBSD: Need info on buying a SCSI adapter Date: Thu, 11 Nov 1993 15:18:37 -0500 Organization: Doctoral student, Industrial Administration, Carnegie Mellon, Pittsburgh, PA Lines: 13 Message-ID: <MgsdsR200iUxQ7XIZt@andrew.cmu.edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: po5.andrew.cmu.edu I would like to buy a SCSI adapter, a CD-ROM drive and possibly a SCSI HD. Currently I have an IDE drive partitioned to run both DOS and 386bsd+0.1.3pk. Now that TeX has been compiled for FreeBSD, I am planning on switching to FreeBSD 1.0 (possibly getting it on CDROM). Before I decide to buy the adapter I would like to know people's experience (questions like is it possible? If so what kind of hassles do I have to go through before getting it to work? etc.) on running FreeBSD with an IDE drive and a SCSI drive and the kind of adapter begin used. Thanks in advance for your help. Natraj.
