On the server I've modified /etc/exports and started portmap, mountd, and nfsd. On the client I've modified /etc/fstab and insured the mount -t nfs is there. Now, when the mount -t nfs command is issued, it returns: Mount RPC error on raven:/tmp/jay: Permission denied In Essential System Administration by ORA it talks about the exportfs program that has to be run after modifying /etc/exports (Suns only, I think....) but there is no such program that I can find on the server or in the man pages. The man pages do allude to a '/etc/netgroup' file that controls NFS mount permissions, however there is no default file present and the man pages say nothing about how the security is determined. So, anyone out there with a helpful hint? ______________________________________________________________________________ | Jay C.
