I know for a fact that the 12F DID work with 386BSD, as I used to
run one, before it cooked a chip [I had a bum power supply].

As far as I can tell, the problems should be stemming from changes
that were made to the FreeBSD wd driver, since all WD-type
controllers should work alike [Ie, I don't believe that the 12F does
anything special.
As for NetBSD, I am running 0.8 on a WD1007V w/ 0 problems [or zero
problems on NetBSD's part.... Since I have 2 full height 27 W drives
and the surge on boot can get pretty nasty..]
