Sender: usenet@apollo.hp.com (Usenet News) Message-ID: <SOMMERFELD.93Nov14162204@snarfblatt.apollo.hp.com> Date: Sun, 14 Nov 1993 21:22:04 GMT Nntp-Posting-Host: snarfblatt.ch.apollo.hp.com Organization: HP Apollo Systems Division, Chelmsford, MA. Lines: 36 I will pay $250.00, to be split evenly between the NetBSD and FreeBSD teams to divide as they see fit, if we go for two months on comp.os.386bsd.* without members of either team publishing negative, disparaging, or false remarks about each other or each other's products. I will pay $250.00, again to be split evenly between the NetBSD and FreeBSD teams, if said teams agree to reattempt the merger. I will pay $500.00, again to be split evenly between the NetBSD and FreeBSD teams, if there is a "merged" NetBSD-FreeBSD release distributed from both sun-lamp and ftp.cdrom.com within six months of the announcement that the merger is on again. This offer is void if none of the conditions have been met by one year from the date of this posting; at that point I'll just go out and buy BSDI.. For the purposes of this offer, the "NetBSD team" is considered to be the current members of "core@sun-lamp.cs.berkeley.edu" and any others that they nominate, and the "FreeBSD team" is considered to be Rodney Grimes, Jordan K. Hubbard, and Nate Williams plus any others that they nominate. Under no circumstances is Jesus Monroy, Jr. to receive any of the money. I will serve as the sole judge as to whether the conditions have been satisfied. I invite others to match this offer. I suggest that the first action to happen is a number of private apologies from both sides. - Bill
