That's exactly what i meant about the shared libraries. Why does this upset you? If you make your code available to people and say "Hey, come play with our neat new stuff", you have no right whatsoever to get all up-in-arms if people actuall DO. If you don't want it released until it's done, then don't release it. Works for XFree86. If you don't want people taking your FreeWare and doing stuff with it, you should get out of the game. There are people making money off of our work with XFree86; some of them give us credit, some don't. Doesn't bother us that they use it (although the lack of credit is a bit annoying). We released it so people can do whatever they want with it. We don't allow early release of stuff, because we want to release it when we're ready. You can't walk both sides of the line, Chris. Either put the code out there and SHUT UP when other people use it. Or don't release it. > >chris >-- >chris g. demetriou cgd@cs.berkeley.edu > > smarter than your average clam. -- David Wexelblat <dwex@aib.com> (703) 430-9247 Fax: (703) 450-4560 AIB Software, Inc., 46030 Manekin Plaza, Suite 160, Dulles, VA 20166 Formerly Virtual Technologies, Inc.
