'Twould have been nice to see a clean, ego-free, merge of SOME of the stuff done by the Net/FreeBSD groups into a common area, but Merger has NEVER been in my thoughts on both groups. They BOTH have different ideas about what the O/S should be! I WOULD like to see less of the 'My O/S is better than your O/S, Nyea, Nyea, Nyea (bronks cheer as appropriate)' and more of what each group says they set out to do, i.e. for NetBSD more research into O/S-kernal improvements and for FreeBSD a stable, usable system which is NOT Bleeding-Edge but which provides a useable, stable kernal with a set of well-integrated utilities for the NON-Bleeding Edge user. The fact of the matter is, that with the, as originally spoken, objectives of each group, there would come a time when they would HAVE to diverge! Please, let's cut the crap and get away from the "You guys screwed this up/ NO You guys screwed THAT up" diatrabes and get on with the program(s).
