The best software comes from frequent and fervent cross pollination. I for one would like to see the cross pollination continue and the bickering, name call, back biting, etc to stop. I think I can sum up the difference between *BSD and Linux as follows: "In Linux, new users get flamed for asking questions in the newsgroups (or heaven forfend, the wrong newsgroup). In *BSD the principals flame each other."[*] Can we please drop the macho ego bullshit? It detracts from the quality of both FreeBSD and NetBSD. Both are fine "products" and have their strengths and weeknesses. Both have a problem they are trying to solve. Can we focus all of this bashing back into the code rather than flaming in public? Please? After all, isn't that what all of this is about? Or am I hopelessly naive?
