Summary: slip x console freebsd

Excuse me if these are repeated questions... I've been too busy to
keep up with these groups.
[Setup: 486/33, 8megs, SCSI, FreeBSD 1.0 Release, XFree86 2.0]
1. When I quit out of my X server (XF86_S3), the console is hung. I know
that under earlier version of XFree86 and FreeBSD there was a way to
fix this involving /dev/vga. That didn't work this time. What am
I missing?
2. SLIP either has a really small inactivity timeout (about 2 minutes) or
there is a problem with my SLIP setup. The slattach reports getting
a SIGHUP, the connection dies, and then starts the redial script.
This only seems to happen after I haven't used the connection for
about 2 minutes.
Reply by email.. thanks!
