I've been trying to compile Luid Emacs (19.8) on FreeBSD 1.0
for some time now, but seem to have no luck in doing so. As I
don't want to swamp you people with nasty linker errors, I

I did a port of this back in the 19.6 days, and Gary Jennejohn did
another port of 19.8 recently but I've found 19.8 (or possibly
Gary's port) to have a number of mysterious display errors, so
I went back.. My older 19.6 port is lurking around freefall
somewhere; I posted diffs a long time back, and they were built
by a number of freebsd members, but I must confess that both the
19.6 sources and patches disappeared off my own machine in one
of my frequent disk space hunts!

To answer your question - a number of things had to be done, and
I can't remember them all.. Perhaps Gary, who can be reached
as `gj%rks32.pcs.dec.com@inet-gw-1.pa.dec.com' might have more
information on what needs to be done to 19.8 and you guys can
sort out the mystery redisplay problems together. I don't have
the time, currently.. :-(
