I  run FreeBSD but there  should be no  differences in  respect of the news
software... I run INN 1.4 since old days of pk0.2 without any problem.

You should be able to pick it  up from any decent  ftp site (ftp.uu.net for
example).  There   is also  a    FreeBSD package  on   freebsd.cdrom.com in
/pub/FreeBSD/packages which should work on NetBSD.
