Someone else posted that Workman (an xview CD audio player) has been ported to BSD/386, and there are diffs on bsdi.com (for version 4.0.1beta). Anybody know where I can get Workman version 4.0.1beta source, or a patched version that runs under FreeBSD? I couldn't find v4.0.1 with archie. I'm afraid with the current version of the CD/SCSI driver for FreeBSD1.0 this still is impossible (nevertheless--I'm deeply thankful to all those people who made 386/Net/FreeBSD possible [with all its {minor} flaws it's still a GREAT system] thanks folks :) ). I peeked into cd.c: CDIOCEJECT and CDIOCSTOP are the same. I fiddled a bit with the cdio audio interface on my own and discovered that as soon as I open /dev/rcd0d the media (say CD) is locked! So I think no eject available. However if I close /dev/rcd0d I can manually eject it with the eject button. Concerning the volume control I believe my cdrom drive does simply not support this feature. :) -Arnulf --- Todd Pfaff \ Internet: todd@flex.eng.mcmaster.ca Dept. of Mechanical Engineering \ Voice: (905) 525-9140 x22902 McMaster University \ FAX: (905) 572-7944 Hamilton, Ontario, CANADA L8S 4L7 \ --
