q: has some tried to link with -lxview ?
i had problems with xmpb(.tar.z from ftp.x.org)...
something like:

i had a similar problem with SlingShot2.1.tar.gz and xshogi-1.1p03.tar.gz
(also from ftp.x.org or so... )
first i was trying libxview build from the source_pkg; after failing i tried
the 'xview32l.tgz', but: same result ;-(
any hint(s) appreciated... (i'm still 'digging')
