I think you need version 19. Version 18 doesn't support '386 chips without major hacking. (At least this was my conclusion when I put emacs on my 386 Unix box 4 months ago. Version 18.59 had explicit support for 386bsd which was partly built on support for other i386 UNIX flavours. Version 19 is easier to configure tho'. Chris Flatters cflatter@nrao.edu
