The same source tree compiled/dumped on a Net8 system will be dump properly. I suspect a problem with unexec.c and the a.out.h files, and if I get no quick solutions from USENET that's where I'm headed first, but maybe, just maybe, someone has a patch for this problem. Any release of emacs that I can get my hands on suffers this same problem. 18.59, etc. If I chose not to dump emacs, it will run just fine, albiet slowly due to having to load some emacs LISP routines every time I want to use it. Thanks in advance for any help you might send my way, Tony Reynolds cctony@sun1.mcsr.olemiss.edu (601)232-5030
