I'm getting the error "spwd.db - Inappropriate file type or format" every
time I boot NetBSD 0.9. I've tried numerous things to fix it: Recopying the
file from the distribution, re-creating the file using vipw, removing the file
and then letting vipw rebuild it.

I know this has come up before, and I've searched the BSD news archives to
find the answer. Unfortunately, I never saw a really good answer, or one
that actually fixed the problem. Has anybody figured this one out?

I'd like to see a solution that has been tried and worked, not just theories.
However, if theory is all we've got, I'll try them too. Thanks...
