I do not think it was in any way an attempt at humor, nor is andy demonstrating
his stupidity.  More in the vein of "I'm a UNIX WIZARD, all bow to me." While
this attitude can be both quite humorous and quite stupid, it is more just
out of date and out of place.

It is the duty of a person who has been down the road to help others find
their way.  His actions were just out and out selfish.
