Hi all,
we have the following computer here:
USL UNIX System V Release 4.0 Version 4 for the Intel386 Family
(well.. that operating system, anyway).
I've installed XFree86 on it (we have a VGA monitor, ET4000 chip).
Anyway... I've played around with the clocks and everything in the Xconfig
file, and now X runs fine when I run it with startx.
However, xdm doesn't seem to be able to open the display.
xdm-errors looks like this:
error (pid 293): Hung in XOpenDisplay(:0), aborting
error (pid 293): server open failed for :0, giving up
error (pid 210): Display :0 cannot be opened
error (pid 210): Display :0 is being disabled
XFree86 Version 1.3 / X Window System
(protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 5000)
... plus all the clock modes etc., no more errors.
does anybody have any idea why this happens/how I can fix it?
	Tamir
