They didn't try to move them to the new 27xxx board under non disclosure (which would have been OK), they didn't do anything except state that target mode is not supported on ANY of their boards. This particular experience says: OEMs can not trust Adaptec. Ask for references of other OEMs using the device in the way you intend to, get it on paper, and ensure that the individual you are dealing with can actually agree to what they say.
