This is not an intelligent answer, but rather a supplement of more newbie questions. :-) I'm in exactly the same boat... I'm trying to prepare my system to begin intallation soon and have been reading through the installation notes. > I have been told to try OS-BS, but I have read in the FreeBSD >installation notes that it cannot boot from a second HD. Does the above >set-up mean I can't use it? I read the identical part in the installation notes. My projected setup: IDE 1: (120 MB) MS-DOS (100%) IDE 2: (345 MB) FreeBSD (100%) I've succesfully installed BootEasy that I found under tools/dos-tools in the FreeBSD release. This is designed specifically for multiple drive systems, and seems to work great. Does anyone know if this will work for my setup once FreeBSD is installed? My other question is... looking through the installation notes it seems like the install program is designed to work only on the first hard drive. Is there a way to set up FreeBSD on the second drive without having to take out my first one? And once I install FreeBSD, is there a way to mount my IDE #1 as a logical DOS partition accesable from within FreeBSD? The install notes state clearly how to do this for a DOS partition on the same physical drive, but not for two seperate drives. Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated. :-) -- /----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | Raymond L.
