I have had the same thing occur on a Gateway 486/66 machine. I have
found that if I turn off the "turbo" button during the boot sequence
the keyboard does not usually get hung up. If I leave the "turbo"
button on the keyboard is always hung on the console. Incidently,
I have found that if I log into the machine from another workstation
and echo something to the console screen (i.e., echo hello > /dev/console)
that the keyboard then wakes up. Does anyone know the cause of this
problem?
