Y. College at Fredonia X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL1] Date: Fri, 17 Dec 1993 21:39:48 GMT Lines: 23 Installation of FreeBSD was proceeding fine. I was able to copy the kernel to sd0a. Then attempt to reboot came up with the message "No Operating System". Have a 486 with Adaptec 1542 SCSI controller. I can bootstrap from floppy and then ask to boot from sd(0,a)/386BSD and it works fine. I have os-bs and can boot DOS which is in the first part of the disk but attempt to boot FreeBSD gives the above result. Fdisk shows correct partitions and offsets. Any ideas on why the bootstrap code is not in place or why it doesn't know how to find the kernel? -- Jin Mazumdar (internet:) mazumdar@cs.fredonia.edu >>> Dept. Of Math and C.
