Buying only 4meg of RAM with a 486/33 is like buying a Corvette with a
4-cylinder engine. No free Unix will run well in 4meg of RAM. They
all will run, but will swap a lot when you try and do things.
Especially if you try to use X.

I run NetBSD, and that's what I highly recommend. But, you're going
to want at least 8meg for any of the BSD's, and 16meg is even better.
One of the best add-ons you could buy for that machine would be a
little more memory.
