I would also like to know the answer to that question.  Does freebsd offer
any additional support for CDROMs or other SCSI cards?  I know that Linux
supports some of the sound card based CDROM interfaces.  Are any of these
available for 386bsd or freebsd?  It would be nice to use one of the cheap
non-SCSI CDROM drives to load software.
