First, when I boot my system, I get the message
"<whatever the current date is> lpd[50]:/dev/lp: No such file or directory"
when things are initializing. This just started happening recently, and I'm
wondering what I did to start it, and how I can stop it.

Now for the second question:
When I try to use tip, I get the following:
  % tip com1
lock open: No such file or directory
  all ports busy

Can anyone help to rectify these situations?
