I have been interested in the idea of how operating systems were
programmed for quite some time, but my interest was really peaked
when I recently finished installing OS/2 and used the boot
manager. I have been programming under OS/2 and DOS for quite
some time but I have no idea where to even start looking for a
reference on how to program something that will boot but is
completely non operating system dependent. Any references
(books, articles, files, etc...) that might help be in this
matter would be appreciated. I would especially like something
that is used as a University or College textbook since I find
these cover information the fastest, but this is not mandatory.

Thanks,

Mike Henders
