YES!

And god, do I hate it! Argiiiii!

My current temporary fix is to remove all wd0 filesystems from /etc/fstab
and add code to /etc/rc to check wd0 filesystems and then mount them after

mount -a -t nonfs

This makes the problem go away too. But It's a pain not having them in fstab.
But since wd0 could go away at anytime, I suppose it's ok. I've tried placing
my fsck and mount for wd0 higher up (like right after fsck -p), but it still
hangs. It's some kind of majik between fsck and mount and wd.c initally.

I thought it might be a problem with the drive not being spun up (wd0 does
take longer to spin than wd1 for me, even in DOS). I tried to fix this by
putting sleep 5 in /etc/rc before the fsck, but same result.

So this appears it might be a hardware problem afterall...

So are there any other NetBSDers out there with a Maxtor as wd1? If so,
what is you experience? Are you having this same problem after applying the
wd.c patch?

For those of you without the Maxtor, what are your shunt settings? I have
the Maxtor setup to be the slave in the master/slave pair. But things
like spindle slave are on seperate shunts. When I get to work, I'll
get the spec sheet out and follow this up. Maybe there is an additional
shunt I need to short.
