The difference is that both of my drives are identical and are from the same manufacturer (big plus when using IDE). I have one as master and one as slave. The newest wd.c in NetBSD-current has a patch in it that has fixed some long-run hangs I used to get, but my system has always fsck'd fine. Even with different-sized filesystems (one drive is small root then big /usr, the other is all /local). I think if you're having any problem with parallel fscks, it's not because of *BSD, but rather because of electrical incompatibilities between two different branded IDE drives. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Michael L.
