I've tried Linux wich runs fine but is somewhat crufty and difficult to strip down to the configuration we need. I'd like to start with a plain "OS-only" configuration and then add Xfree and there we are ... And ... we need _stable_ networking ;-) So I'd like to try NetBSD. The bad thing about the ditribution (0.9) I have is: the NE2100 ethernet board is not supported - and this adapter comes _on_board_ of exactly the machines we are planning to use. Is there some driver available? I'd really appreciate having a stable plain BSD OS I can use. BTW: I've read about NetBSD and FreeBSD having problems with I/O and more than 16 MB of memory - is this related to busmaster DMA only or can't I use more than 16 M in an ISA machine? Are EISA machines and -adapters supported anyway (Adaptec 1740)? Please send me an email if you like to answer. Thanks in advance, Paddy -- Patrick M.
