I am attempting to write some code which needs to generate text files
and then submit them to a printer.

The problem is that on some of the systems on which this code will
run, I will need to use lp and some I will need to use lpr. The TranScript
software is the level that interfaces to our postscript printers.

I am having problems figuring out for instance how to tell lp that
I want the files to be printed landscape - I don't see anything documented
in lp for me to indicate this. The same thing for things like duplex
(both sided) printing.

Does anyone know of some software which would provide me some insights on
how to go about this task? Thanks!
